Why only dream of having a beautiful smile, when you can dream while having a beautiful smile!

What is Sedation Dentistry?

Sedation dentistry is a moderate level of sedation where you are technically awake but feel at ease. It helps you feel calm and composed during the ongoing dental treatment. It’s like sleeping where you do not feel pain but don’t lose consciousness. If dental treatment gives you a panic attack, we are there to help you out with sedation dentistry.
Sedation dentistry helps you keep relaxed completely during a dental procedure. If you are one amongst the following, then sedation dentistry is the right choice for you. Sedation dentistry helps patients who are
  • Anxious and dental phobic
  • Have had a negative dental experience in the past
  • Have a low pain threshold
  • Very worried about how to cope with dental treatment/ noises of drills / sight of needles and multiple other fears related to dentistry.
Different types of sedation are used in dentistry depending on the patient’s need
  1. Inhalation sedation : You are guided to inhale sedation gas along with oxygen through a mask. It helps you relax during the dental treatment.
  2. Oral sedation : You are given a tablet to ingest. Depending on the amount of sedation needed the dosage of the tablet is decided. We can achieve mild to moderate sedation with this.
  3. IV Moderate sedation : The sedation is done by giving medicine through IV line in your veins.
Sedation dentistry is a blessing for anxious patients.
  • Sedation reduces anxiety.
  • Anxious patients who have avoided dental treatment can get treatment done.
  • Sedation helps lower discomfort.
  • Recovery time is quick
